We work together with leading businesses to provide young emerging creative entrepreneurs, in the film and digital space, opportunities to up-skill their potential to enhance their workplace performance.

Reel Partners NPC supports emerging filmmakers through our specialized training and internship programme, alongside leading business owners and industry associations.

Founded in 2016 and based in Cape Town, South Africa, Reel Partners NPC is a film industry initiative proudly co-produced by Deidré Rosenberg, Karabo Likhethe, and Kutlwano Makgalemele.

We upskill and nurture young emerging creative entrepreneurs who demonstrate talent, passion, hard work, and commitment while working with leading businesses to provide work experiences for unemployed youth in the film and digital media space, addressing the country’s youth unemployment crisis.

The Reel Partners NPC vision is to support and nurture young emerging creatives and filmmakers in the wider creative industry, having a positive impact on the lives of youth, new business, established businesses and the industry as we leverage education and collaboration to stimulate development, growth and productivity throughout South Africa and beyond.

OUR PEOPLE

Karabo LikhetheDirector

Karabo Likhethe is a film producer, director, and screenwriter working and living in Ventura, California. After graduating with Honours (Cum Laude) from AFDA in 2013, he went on to work at Velocity Films with Tristyn Von Berg, at Giant Films with directors Ian Gabriel, Sam Coleman, Peri Van Papendorp and Karien Cherry, and then in 2018 – 2020 Karabo created documentary content with world class Universities including MIT and Oxford, for 2U Cape Town as Lead Video Producer, heading a team of 6.

Currently, Karabo serves as CEO and Executive Producer at Beyond Reel Entertainment. He is producing original stories such as the Award-Winning animated short film SHELTER (2021), and most recently The Sidewalk with NFVF support.

Karabo is a humble, multi-talented, passionate filmmaker who actively looks for ways to give opportunities to emerging filmmakers.

Kutlwano MakgalemeleDirector

Kutlwano has been in the film industry for more than 12 years. She spent the early stages of her career immersed in television and production. From 2007- 2010 she worked at Urban Brew studios.

She co-owned the rights to the 48 Hour Film Project Franchise in Johannesburg between 2010 – 2013, facilitating and showcasing over 300 short films.

She has been a lecturer at City Varsity, teaching Cinematography, Production and Producing short films.

Deidré RosenbergDirector

Deidre is passionate about nurturing and promoting talented creative youth. She is a film skills trainer and works as producer, writer, director, HR, BBBEE, and her resume includes various finance roles.

Deidre infects Reel People with her resourceful, vivacious, creative, and hardworking spirit. She believes that everything is figure-out-able and it is fun when it’s with the right team. Deidre also holds the title of CSO Chief Imaginist at Beyond Reel Entertainment.
